The main areas of research are:

Visual search – how do we detect or find a target when it is surrounded by distracting items? What brain areas are involved and, importantly, what do they do? Why is this task sometimes hard and what does this tell us about our visual perception of the world?
Sport and Cognition – engaging in many sports seems to have beneficial effects on cognition. How specific are some of these effects, how general are they and what underlies these changes in the brain? Can cognitive training improve sporting performance?
Other topics of interest relate to different aspects of visual processing, inhibitory control and the role of the brain in music and art.
